Lock $SLING
To cast votes on the SlingShot DAO site you must have Voting Power, which you gain by locking your $SLING tokens. The more tokens you lock, and the longer you lock them, the more Voting Power you gain.
Step-by-step
2 Connect your Metamask wallet if it’s not connected.
3A Hover over your Avatar at the top right.
3B Click Wallet from the drop down menu.
4A Click Lock Tokens if you have not previously locked $SLING previously. (If you have, click Lock Additional Tokens).
4B If you wish, you can also use this screen to extend previous lock duration.
5 Enter amount of tokens you want to lock.
6 Select the amount of time you want to lock the tokens. (If you’ve previously locked $SLING, you may extend the duration at this time.)
7 Click Allow Slingshot to access your $SLING so the app can access the tokens in your Metamask wallet. Metamask will ask you to confirm in the next step.
8 Enter a Spending Cap in the Metamask popup. This is a safety protocol to ensure an app you’re connected to does not withdraw more assets than you’ve authorized. Click Next to continue.
9 Click Confirm to approve the nominal network gas fee for the transaction, to be paid in $MATIC.
10 Click Lock to complete the process and lock your $SLING in exchange for Voting Power.
